My post wasn't meant as a dig at English campsite owners, honestly, and my post actually includes links to very cheap storage which you haven't quoted.
Yes, you're right you get what you pay for. If people want 'the works' then that's fair enough but personally we don't want to be on one site, or need any of the extras. We merely want dry indoor storage in central France, where our caravan is out of the British weather for the winter, and we pay a modest amount for that privilege. We can pick up the van and wash it ourselves in the owner's yard, and tow it to a nearby campsite to load up, then set off in whatever direction we wish.
For those who wish to store on a site, and find the caravan ready to move into, then I'm sure campsite owners provide a service which is second to none. And I know that your site is a lovely place to store and stay!
