A friend of mine did a cycling trip in Holland about 5 years ago on a barge.  They ate and slept on the barge and cycled alongside the canels and into the towns and countryside during the day.  If they wanted a day's break from cycling they just stayed on the barge, and of course the luggage was on board so they just met up with the barge at the end of each day's cycling.

Might take me a few days to find out, but I'll see if she can remember who they booked it with.

Spoke to my friend, she thinks their cycle/barge trip was book through a company called something like Anglo Dutch.  She said it was "a great holiday and an ideal way of getting about, I  highly recommend it."

we have just returned from holland and found it to be great.lovely people polite helpful and friendly.the place is very clean too.

my 15 year old wants to go back to amsterdam............................................................

i suggested he go when hes a bit older  AND without his mother!!!
