If you are considering the Spanish Brittany Ferries route it may well be worth your while joining the club yourself as the discount is greater than if you use someone elses code.

A quick update, and I hold no one responsible on UKCS.
Based on recommendations and an hour or so going through the small print confident that the 30% discount would be on my total cost.
£230 later Brittany Ferries Voyager Club membership number received. Booking commenced, car and van logged, accommodation chosen, itinerary and onto payment.
Somehow my maths did not reflect in the amount they were asking for! I had calculated the 30% saving to come to £342 on my whole booking not the £195 they were showing.
Alas NOT, the discount is only on the cost of the FERRY, the physical booking of yourself and or vehicle onto the boat I've highlighted that as that is what it is referred to during the booking process.
A quick ring to customer services will sort this? Nope, They state the discount is only on the SAILING. What is the sailing you refer to? I ask. Answer as above the booking of your car or self onto the boat, Not any accommodation.
At no place in any of the terms does it mention that the accommodation is not included in the discount or that accommodation is not part of the term 'SAILING.' Even when you get to the itinerary before payment it makes reference to your SAILING, showing date of sailing, vehicle details and accommodation.
In all using the Voyager club has actually cost me £35 more.
Strong letter sent asking for their point. I will be taking advice in the mean time.
As stated before this message it would be more advantagious if only making one trip a year to get a code off a friendly member for 10% as it would work out cheaper.

Forgot to add in my last. They state that the accomodation is an extra as you don't have to book accommodation. Despite my protestation that in their terms and conditions of carriage it reads :.For overnight crossings to France and on our Spanish service, a cabin or reclining seat must be pre-booked whilst availability remains. Bookings without on board accommodation may only be accepted on our French routes after all such accommodation has been reserved. My interpretation of that is that on the Spanish ferry you have to book some form of accommodation from room to a reclining chair otherwise you cannot sail. Therefore the booking of accommodation is not an extra but a requirement of the sailing?

Would you really want to spend 24 hours on board without a cabin and bed to sleep in

Its clear on their web-site that the discount doesn't include accommodation.

The accommodation is discounted on the France crossings but not the Spanish ones.

Hi,

Not connected with this precise thread but I have had reason very recently to alter our booking to France in the near future with BF.

Can I inform all that if the alteration is performed online (and assuming that the journey atracts the same fare,) there is no charge to alter the bookingt.

That applies to alterations before you travel.
If you needed to change your return once you've left the UK the option to change isn't available online and there is a charge.

Yes you're right Saxo. I apologise for adding to the confusion.

However, when I rang to amend, a very nice lady at Brittany advised me that I could do so on line and she did say that if I insisted at throwing money at her, the charge would be £15. Don't know if that alters to £25 once you have started the journey.
