The campsite looks to me like a perfectly nice, normal, small, rural French site, but in the wrong place, and I don't think you will find much in the village when you walk in there in an evening. If you have a tent you may want to stay in one place, but with a caravan we would go there for a day or two and decide whether to move on or not. It's an area we drive through every year but aren't really tempted to stop. It's simply flat, agricultural farmland
Marans is a bigger place nearby, with shops and a market and traffic jams. The municipal site there has a pool and gets good reviews. So does the municipal site at Maillezais, which is also nearby, but I don't think that has a pool.
Would you consider going an hour further to somewhere like Camping La Palombiere at Les Mathes which is close to the surfing beaches of the Cote Sauvage?
