Hi all, my wife and I are planning an open-ended trip through Spain, Portugal and France using the Ferry to Northern Spain but as we are both now retired we want the duration and return date to be open ended e.g. 90 plus days depending on weather etc etc.

My current multi-trip annual policy with Staysure (including medical conditions) limits journeys to 100 days, does anyone know of any other deals before I renew this policy?
Thanks

Annual multi trip policies always have some sort of limit on the length of each trip . For really long trips you can get a single trip policy for any length you like up to 365 days, but you will have to specify what duration you want. Some good advice on Moneysupermarket.com

Chris, on that website they list their longest policies as Backpacker Insurance, although those policies may be longer than you need.

Yes its a dilemma as we need multi trips as we go away a few times each year and these policies only cover you for one long trip?
Surely there is a market for such policies as Europe is full of retired people touring in vans and campers. Lets face it its what we worked hard for and finally we don't have to rush back to work on Monday:)
My brother and his wife have the same problem as they go on cycling tours for 3 or 4 months at a time across Europe! (if only I had the energy:)

PS Totally unrelated we want to buy an Eriba next year a Puck or Pan have you any tips as I see you own a Triton? We did look in Holland this year at old ones but they seemed as expensive as over here!

The best sources for advice on buying and running Eribas are the two specialised forums - EribaForum and EribaFolk Forum. I won't come down in favour of the one or the other as I'm not actually a member of either of them. But three photos of us if you click on my gallery images here.

Eriba prices have gone daft in the last few yrs. If considering an older Eriba you need to get underneath & check thin square tube chassis members out from central chassis & around bottom edge of caravan for rust. If there is serious rot in any section of it then walk away as repairs are difficult & time consuming.

Prices of some are a bit cheaper in France & its feasable to pop over to northern France to buy one for cash off private seller but you need to be quick before the UK buyers who snap up the bargains to flog for inflated prices on UK ebay. Search Eriba on Leboncoin
