Yep there is a Municipal at Chamonix, which makes for a nice base for visiting Geneva, not been there since 1990, our Son 5 at the time was to scared to go on the cable car.
So we took him to see the Fountain at Geneva, dam thing was turned of due to high wind, he still reminds me to this day that I promised to take him to see the Fountain at a Lake Geneva, kids eh!
We stayed at la columbiere, neydens. Walking distance to shopping centre at vitam. Big water park there too.
Nice site, pitches variable in size. We changed pitches for sunny pitch. Plenty of room for our twin axle.
Bus route to Geneva. We found this area quite spread out, and seemed to be driving most days.
Annecy 30 mins. Chamonix about an hour.
Hope this helps.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We spent hours looking at several sites, reading reviews and watching videos.....La Colombiere is more expensive but does have all the creature conforts and I have friends in Geneva I want to visit which is why we wanted to be close to the lake,I know Neydens is not close to the lake but good access to Geneva and good roads to head in any direction for day trips
