Hi
I'd be very grateful of any suggestions you have for campsites that would allow a possible day trip to Switzerland.
We'd be looking for a family campsite that'd keep 2 children ages 12&7 happy. Thanks in advance.

Camping Les Domes de Miage at St Gervais les Bains gets just about the best reviews in the area if you are driving on up the easy road along the valley from Geneva towards Chamonix. I'll let you look it up.
I wouldn't bother to backtrack from there to Geneva which has little appeal, but if you want to dip your toes into Switzerland you can go on north eastwards and up to the Swiss border at the Col de La Forclaz and down to Martigny if you wish.

La Columbiere might suit you. Can book direct or through Caravan club. Discount available through campsite for bus/boat taxi to Geneva from Vitam 10 mins walk from site.

Ten years ago but we had a week at La Pergola and did a day trip to Switzerland. The views from the Jura across to the Alps were the high point. Switzerland a bit too twee for my taste.

We stayed here last year its very nice and lots of ppl were using it to go to switzerland, i think it was about 100km to Geneva. You may need a v-e-r-y long electric cable.

We look round here whilst at lac de chalain, other side of lake, it was much better laid out with separate divided pitches, but prob more expensive (food and drink was) at 5 star
Unless you are willing to pay for a vignette or a heavy vehicle fee (if you are over 3500t) wherever you choose make sure you can get to wherever you go in Switzerland by public transport or on small roads - not quite as easy as it may seem if you choose large towns/cities to visit.
