Walked around it 2 years ago to check it out. Nice position by river with fabulous view of chateau. Spacious with slightly tired looking facilities dotted about. Easy walk over bridge to town with bars and restaurants and walk up to castle. Decuded not to stay as it was a heat wave and we wanted a pool to cool down in.
Stayed there thirty years ago! (But have returned many times to the Loire area)
As others have said, fab views of the chateau, which is well worth a visit ... if only for the imprisoned knight's templar graffiti.
An excellent base from which to tour the major chateaux along the Loire.
Don't miss Azay, Villandry, Chaumont, Chambord, Blois (my favourites) ... and the fantastic son et lumiere shows ... especially at Chambord and Blois ... Azay can be good, too.

We found a sweet little site between Blois and Chambord last summer . A bit bigger than a CL, about 20 pitches, privately owned, no pool, no crowds, good toilets and showers, very clean and very pleasant for a few days touring in that area , but not on the river bank. If any of you are interested I'll look up its name.

cheers everyone, yes please berriow if you could.thanks.
It's at Huisseau sur Cosson between Blois and Chambord. Some websites call it Aire Naturelle de Delaboissiere - (the name of the owner) and some call it Camping Chatillon. Details of location etc in Caravan Europe guide if you have a copy.
But someone found it before we did and has put up a review here on Campsite Search already.
