My wife and I camped in France in that almost forgotten hallowed period called 'before kids'. We loved it and are returning to it this year, now with a 6 and 5 yr old.
Doing the planning and figuring out what we need to sort out and need some help with the following.
1) Has France moved on from those fuel stations that you could only pay with a French card? (Card Blue?) - how do you know that you are at one of those anyway? I remember this being a weird hassle.
2) Credit Card - have read about the Halifax Clarity being good for zero charges. Can I use that for motorway tolls? Any other options?
3) Electrickery. We have never had this when camping before but think it will be good to have the coolbox running. Have the normal UK lead to RCD 3 way - do I need a French adapter? (I bet this gets asked all the time - sorry)
We have ferry booked (Portsmouth - Le Havre) for 23rd July and a short list of sites near Carnac.
Best regards
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

They take Mastercard and Visa

A lot of sites use the European blue connector which you have, but you should also take a an adaptor for french sockets. (these are about £6)

Ignore reverse polarity!
Table top fridge will save you lots of money and work better than 95% coolboxes .... unless you pay a small fortune.
Plan an alternative area to go to ... in case weather forecast is ten days of cloud, thunder, and rain in Carnac.
I'd agree with everything Kelper says, and would add that despite them still being sold by the Caravan Club, and on ferries, it is no longer essential to have a personal breathalyser, (and definitely not two) as some people will recommend. Our friend was stopped near Limoux and the action of the Gendarmes confirmed that they no longer check that you are carrying a breathalyser and indeed are not a bit concerned one way or the other.
