You don't need to actually shop in Tesco. Get a clubcard and link it to a topcashback account. Get cashback for your online shopping and get it converted into Tesco points. During the last 12 months, just by doing my internet shopping using topcashback I've got over £40 back, which turns into £120 off my tunnel crossing.

Booked our Tunnel return crossing yesterday with car and 8mt caravan cost just £219 return with the Caravan Club . The price has not changed on line over the last 3 months I have been watching. Another thing this years price is only £11 more than it was 3 years back.
We booked today, car and 8m van late May to mid June with a dog £290 in total (£145 in vouchers) a bout £20 more than last year but slightly different dates. CC no cheaper than direct wit Eurotunnel and couldn't use vouchers.
Not cheap but our much preferred option due to dog and OH being terrible sailor.....plus the time saved versus a ferry crossing

We're waiting for our next Clubcard statement so we can book our Chunnel for Easter, prices don't seem too bad.
Edit: Went and checked Clubcard account and vouchers are there, so in the middle of booking now. Prices up a little, but we are booking very late, which may account for that, but Clubcard has covered total cost, so I'm not fussed!
We don't shop in Tesco but use our Tesco credit card for shopping, petrol and big purchases. We had £210 of vouchers to offset against the cost when I booked.
Just paid £140 for a 03:20 departure 16/8 coming back 30/8 12:20
Thought that was pretty good. DFDS from Newhaven is more than double what it was last year for same dates. Their port was in danger of closing due to subsidy issues, so wonder if they are trying to bleed every penny out that they can?

We always travel on the 3.20am Train. My husband goes to bed about 7pm night before and gets up at 10.30pm we then travel down to Dover. We then stop twice in Belgium for Fuel, Food and Comfort Stops arriving at our first campsite in Germany at Noon. After setting up the caravan we go and shop. We eat in the campsite restaurant at 6pm and then into bed at 7pm When we wake in the morning we are refreshed and have no after effects. I don't even go to bed before leaving for the Tunnel.
A week ago we booked Dieppe - Newhaven 2nd July 12 o'clock ferry for £39. Just looked and that sailing has gone up to £75. The other times are still £39 though. We decided to do the tunnel going out and are dithering about when to book. Seeing as prices seem to be rising I think we might book sooner rather than later.

Just looking at booking our crossings for Aug and the price is quite high. Have I missed the good deals or should I wait a few weeks? I'm sure I usually book around this time but its working out at over £100 more than last yr!
Funny you should say that, I was looking to book our crossings this morning and was just thinking the very same thing.
Essexmum, we used our Tesco vouchers for the tunnel this Easter, (from advice on this forum; thanks), & it cost us £50! Now voucher-saving madly for summer, or possibly even May!
