Its about 5 minutes walk.

Comeout of the gate, turn left, you can follow the stream, this way you pass the allotments and come out near the 'chickens', and eventually into the square with the fountain.

What was a basic bar is now a pizza place - I think its called la Famille. the TUI office is next door. There is a Tabac/ Pressee, a small mini market, an artisan patisserie and thata it. Just a mile away is a LeClerc, they also have fuel here and its not far from the main route south.

No pool = bliss

There is a Chateau motor museum, well worth a viewing:

One year by chance we met the owner, he came to the campsite ad we went swimming with him for the afternoon....long story, but I worked for Guerlain (parfum), and he married one of the Guerlain family........amazing coincidence here, it will be in my book when I get it published!

Ah badger, what a ashame you were dissapointed.

We only ever stay a few days en route to somewhere. Also we rarely stay on site, we cycle around the area or go into Beaune for the Saturday market.

There is super cycle route through the vines, route de vin to Vergelesse, Aloxe Corton and Nuits st George. If you have an MTB then you can use the rough back roads which are intended for the farmers.......an evening ride round the vines is bliss.

There are few facilities which means it draws few popel , other than people buying from the famous caves.

We sail Thursday (Hull - Zeebrugge), drive Friday, arrive about 4pm, go to leClerc to stock up on bits. Do Beaune on the Saturday, and hit the road to wherever on the Sunday.

there are a lot of transients on the site, its not a place ot spend 2 weeks holiday. My idea of hell would be Yella, or Les Castells....thisplace ticks all the boxes for us.

If we win the lottery  we would definately buy something in the village.

The museum is like a pilgrimmage for bikers, often groups of bikers just whizz through during the sday, but many do an overnight at Premier Pres, so there's plenty of 'toys' to look at on the site.

We are heading in a different direction this year, so we won't be in Savigny (shame)...we are going to risk the Paris route down to the South West, so we too may be in the Loire, and there's only one sight we really like. Le Chantepie, its just outside Saumur on a plateau overlooking the river.
