My good lady and & have been to Holland many times, but not for the last 5 years. We want to return this summer, with the caravan. We used the caravan club to book our pitch. They seem to have the same old ones year after year. Can anyone recemend a good site please ?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Only sites I use in Holland are naturist. This one indoor & outdoor pools & 3 saunas. Generally no need to book but they will answer phone & emails in fluent English.
Bill Reid, We've stayed at a campsite in Amsterdam, another at Lelystad on the edge of the Markemeer lake, one in the east in the Hoge Veluwe national park, and others in the south in Zeeland province., and others I will remember later. We liked them all and never let the Caravan Club choose for us.
Where do you want to go, and what style of sites do you like?
Only the good lady & I going so a site wth a bit of P&Q . We oo like to use our bikes so one I the country side. North Holland if possible, but anywhere really. Going by ferry " Rotterdam " so easy to head anywhere.

In that case I suggest you get a guide book to the Netherlands and also a site guide, pick three or four places of interest and do a little tour. I hope it goes well.
Camping Lauwersoog on the north coast above Groningen is a very good site. Very quite area and good for cycling, take the ferry to the island of Schiermonnikoog and enjoy a day of cycling in the sand dunes and traffic free tracks / roads and there are some very nice bars.
There is a campsite within Nationaal park De Hoge Veluwe. It's a " natuurkampeerterrein". You can't book in advance but it is a lovely place for walking and cycling. In the park is the famous Kröller Muller museum and some other very nice places to visit.
Also within Nationaal park De Hoge Veluwe is a site called Droompark de Zanding. We stayed there for a week in June 2013 using ACSI card and it was very quiet and peaceful then. There are a couple of lakes for fishing, kayaking and swimming.
We stayed here which is close to Haarlem (which is great). http://www.natuurkampeerterreinen.nl/terreinen/noord-holland/schoonenberg/ We caught the fast ferry to Amsterdam from here for the day, I believe that has now stopped and you have to get the train, but even so it's a great base.
I can recommend the island of Texel (pronounced "Tessel") It's only a 15 minute ferry ride from the mainland (just turn up - no booking required) There are plenty of campsites and loads of quiet roads for cycling.
Have a look at the mini campsites

We stayed at one called "de Veldhoeve"
It was very nice . I think about 16 pitches.
This was near Eindhoven but they seem to be all over the Netherlands.
thank you everyone for your help. We have booked up for Heumans Bos. we went there about 6 years ago and had a fab time. Some friends we know are also going back " for the march" so it will be good to catch up again.
