Hi all,
we're thinking of going to France with the van for the first time next year for 2 weeks, and want to include a few nights near Paris. I know its a big ask but I'd love some advice on the following, please:
1. Best Route from Calais to South (Frejus area NOT Agde)
2. Nice sites s.w Paris
3. Can we do Paris - Frejus in a day or will we need another stop (2 drivers)
4. Overnight stop for the way back.
I intend to book direct with sites, following advice on the forums.
Thanks in advance. ;)

I don't know when you're planning to go, but outside the peak weeks of mid-July to mid-August, there are sites which will cost as little as 10 euros per night using the ACSI Card (www.campingcard.co.uk). Perhaps not in the Frejus area at 10 euros - although here's one which will cost just 12 euros per night between 25/04 - 27/06 and again from 24/08 - 30/09 - and included in that you can take three under six year olds! That's for the pitch, car and caravan, awning, and electricity (and people)! Camping Le Vaudois
I know your ferry is likely to be expensive and there are few ways of reducing that, short of using Tesco vouchers and the tunnel, so perhaps a saving on sites might be worth considering.

Hi crazy guider, If you have only got a fortnight, does it have to be all the way to Frejus?
From where you live to Frejus and back via Dover-Calais is 1900 miles - that's going to be six big days driving out of your fortnight. Can you squeeze a few more days away, or perhaps go somewhere nearer ?
For your first trip to France from your address in Somerset the ferry from Poole to Cherbourg and a holiday on the western side of France would be a whole lot easier.
Agree with above, too mnay daya driving recovery for time frame but each to their own.
We live 10 mins from euro tunnel. We take two days to go donw to Frjus and one day back. By the time i'm on the train i'm seroisuly beat and feel even worse next day!
