This is probably a really stupid question but here goes. We usually camp in France with ehu but this year we are taking the caravan for the first time. So the question is - can I use the same electric adapter for the caravan as we use for camping?

Yes, plug in the Ehu lead as normal & use French 2pin adaptor if necessary.

french adaptor

Loads of other places sell these. More and more sites are moving over to the blue connectors that we have in the UK

Hang on a minute - when you say 'the EHU we use for camping' do you mean a long lead with 2 or 3 electric sockets at one end and a blue plug at the other?

If so you will need a different one for a caravan, with a blue plug at each end.   Make sure you get a long one as Electricity bollards can be quite a long way away.

Also an extension cable for that long lead hook up. Some bollards can be a very long way away

I agree Stuart.    We have an extension for our EHU and as well as using it ourselves we have lent it to several motorhomers in MH aires, especially in marinas, who otherwise would not have been able to hook up.
Funny thing is, they don't like it much when we want it back, often early in the morning ,when we want to move on!

No, we have a separate ehu for the tent and the caravan, it's just the small French adapter lead like in SGThomas's link - am I right in assuming the one we use in France when camping can be used in France with the caravan? Sorry if I'm confusing

They can all be used, providing they are rated for the 220v supply. The bollard end is the same on both, it is just the inlet to the unit that differs.
