Hi, already booked our hols this summer so idling away the evenings looking for ideas for next year. Managed to pre book 3 weeks hol at work from 24 July til 13 August 2016 it's my 50 th birthday mid hol and my sons 15th ( can't go any other dates) . My idea was Du Letty ( always wanted to go but a bit worried about the weather) 1 week, Domaine de la Breche ( love chateaux) and maybe a few days at des 4 vents ( about to buy annual Disney passes ) but going off this idea already ( weather, Disney and Chateaux too busy etc, etc). So given fixed dates, big birthday to celebrate , 15 year old ( with birthday) and 18 year old ( bookworm, not disco's) to accommodate what would you do?
Just for reference live in Bristol , don't mind which crossing, speak some French, love water (beach or river) , need pool with slides , love history. This is just for ideas/ fun thanks for any ideas/ suggestions .Lou.

My idea would be Austria one week, followed by Lake Garda one week. Then you could head back to France for your final week. We did Austria and Garda a couple of years ago and it was a great trip and weather. Have left reviews.

What about taking in Black Forest as something different. With a 15 nearly 16 year old, they may love love a couple of days at Europa Park and the rodelbahns down the side of various mountains. Loads of outdoor swimming places and plenty of nikinga dn hiking possibilities. Cake and beer is just the icing

We loved Frejus last July, having not been since 2004, not everyone's cup of tea I know, but great for visiting the Cote d Azur from St Tropez along to Monte Carlo, and up into the hills for the Gorges, we even did a trip upto Grasse for a free guided tour around the Fragarond perfumery, what a chilled day out that was.

It all depends what floats your boat.

Hi thanks for the ideas so far they all sound good, especially Europa park my 2 love Disney but their favourite parc Asterix . Obviously 2016 is a long way off but its nice to dream and it is the only time I would be able to get 3 weeks off so we want to use it wisely also I love to know how our fellow campers would use the time

Depends how much you like driving!
If you enjoy it then go to Provence or Languedoc but don't stay on the coast. If you're less keen on driving then it's quite easy to get to Lyon for the East or Bordeaux for the West! Between the two (roughly) there's Orleans (and other chateau/cathedral cities) and, for walking &c, the Massif Central.

One thing to bear in mind is that most routes go through Paris - many people go to a lot of trouble to avoid it but, if you like museums, galleries and history, there's no better place. So stay there for a few days en route.
