When did Pin Parasol supply toilet paper and soap????
This site was our blissful introduction to french camping but the toilet paper situation was an initial shock. I now realise it is much more sanitary not to be touching other peoples bugs.

Like the idea of a cork.

Will check out suggested sites

Does seem a little funny to me now.. However once bitten twice shy so we need clean toilets or stay in UK.

You know the toilets are dirty when...
.We used the ones at the supermarket which were cleaner than the site, also had soap and tissue.
.We used restaurant ones which were also cleaner- at back of beach and had soap, toilet tissue, hand dryer and paper hand towels (much better than ones in England).
.Your children don't want to go because they say toilets are dirty (not worried by mud though)

I think you must have just chosen a dodgy site. We always check all the reviews and if there is a problem which is consistent across reviews we would then avoid that site.

In many years of camping we have never had D&V. Had odd occasions of sickness and loose bowel movements, but not at the same time and no more than would get at home or abroad.

If you're prepared to try a site in Provence then I know of one where the soap dispenses automatically and the toilets are so clean that you can check your cleanliness on the reflection on the tiles.

Hello

After an interesting and enjoyable holiday last year, at Bretignolles s/m, which was our debut camping in France with children we would like to go again.

Last year we had 'les conditions exceptionelle' (please excuse my terrible French) with the tropical storm nearby and lots of the campsite flooded - though not us. We also had 2 sicky children and I had a nasty d & V bug. I am blaming it on the toilets.(Good site but bad toilets)

We therefore require a site which has a pool, toilets with tissue and hand wash at basins, near (30 min's drive) to beach, suitable for children, entertainment/bar not necessary.

Any recommendations please- the search doesn't have a 'loo paper' choice on the requirements.

Just realised where Bretignolles s/m is!

You could always go 10km inland, to RCN La Ferme Du Latois.

They had liquid soap dispensers, loo roll, toilet seats, and constant hot water, when we were there Last September, and I don't recall any running out. I do recall them being constantly clean, however. (I know the clientèle can help on that score, and we went for the last two weeks of the season, so it wasn't exactly a full site, with kids everywhere!)

Family/Child friendly, with a couple of slides at the pool. I believe they do some sort of entertainment in peak season, to keep the young ones happy, but I doubt it will be in yer face full on. They certainly don't have a club house of any description.

Mucker, on first look it looks great. Have already put it into my virtual brochure to peruse later when the ankle biters are in bed.

Looks 'homely' and non commercial. Please tell me it within walking distance for of a boulangerie of that I can show off my terrible French ordering croissants and bread.

Sorry to be cheeky and only look at one site- I know others have kindly recommended other sites and will go and check them out. Thank you.

There's a small shop on site, who take orders for the next morning's bread.
There's a couple in the nearest village too (Coex), as well as a Super U express type supermarket, but I wouldn't say that was walking distance... 10 mins on a bike, 3mins by car.

As for language, the whole staff seem to be Dutch (It's a Dutch owned parent company), and as I'm sure you are aware, they tend to speak better English than most of us on here! :-)

Oh... and take every bit of kit you have... tha majority of pitches are massive!
