We are thinking of taking the plunge and storing a caravan in France. Storage on this site seems a good option for us at the moment. Does anyone have any good, bad or otherwise experience or comments about it, from a storage rather than a campsite point of view?

There are a couple of reviews of Le Picard which mention storage. It might be an idea to leave a message (or send an email if they offer the option - perhaps through the Admin on this website) to those people to ask whether they are still storing there, and how they find the storage.
The site is British run, and the site reviews are good ... though being close to Bayeux it is very 'north' and weather patterns probably not that different from south coast (GB) ... for an overnighter 'off the ferry', that's probably very useful.
The storage is outdoor, and at 295 euros per annum, is a bit pricey ... we store on an indoor secure site near Angers for 185 euros a year ... not a campsite, so it is a hitch and go - drop off site ... though that suits us fine.
Maybe someone who stores there can add a different viewpoint ... their website shows a pic of the storage area and gives details.
Like Kelper we store indoors, for 200 euros per year. Ours is in a dry barn, and we can pick up when it suits us. We chose to keep ours in central France, so that after pick up we can head in whatever direction we choose - wherever the weather is best. Often this has been in the south............!
I think on those sites which offer 'storage and tow to pitch' the costs are generally higher, and if they offer indoor storage that can be twice as much as on the farm down the road where you can tow it to a pitch yourselves.
There is a site in the Dordogne (Monpazier storage) which is British owned, and a site near Rochefoucauld where our friends store their caravan - but I don't think either offer indoor storage. Some do offer free pitches for a certain amount of time if you choose to store there.
Vallee des Vignes offers storage too - and I have a feeling they do 'indoors'.

I counted the caravans in storage on the website photo for Le Picard , multiplied by €295, each, and silently congratulated them on the business model they have developed. They have done well.
We have stayed at le Picard a couple of times over the last 2 to 3 years, lovely site, and as you can see from their website they do have a lot of storage space....
Noticed this year that they have the site up for sale as they plan to retire....
Thanks for all comments. At the moment storage on a campsite is a good option for us as it would enable our children and families, who do not tow, to make use of the caravan. Also location-wise, an hour or so from the ferry seems sensible as it allows us to get to and from the caravan without an overnight stay in a hotel and we tend not to venture too far south anyway. However, things could well be different in a couple of years as our circumstances change.
