If you get one of these you can use the camping gaz cylinders.

Perfect to use Campingaz CV cartridges with Coleman butane/propane stoves, larnters & heaters

With this adapter you can use the blue Campingaz CV disposable cartridges in Coleman applications that are initially designed for Coleman butane/propane cartridges. Although both companies are now merged, for historical reasons Campingaz is the dominant camping gas system in the European Union (including also the UK) both in the market of the disposable gas butane/propane cartridges and refillable butane bottles. Therefore this adapter is a must if you want to make sure that you can always find gas for your Coleman butane/propane stove, lantern, heater, etc. I have a Sunbeam heater that uses Coleman cartridges. It works fantastically well with the Campingaz cartridges.

How long are you going for? If a couple of weeks you can probably take enough with you. The big supermkts in France like LeClerc have camping sections that sell canisters such as Campingaz & Primus, I can't remember if they have Coleman as well.
Not many camping shops in France so main source of gear apart from campsite shops is Supermkts. There is a Decathlon in most towns but thats more sportswear & bikes than camping although they do stock some gear so worth a look. Supermkts & Decathlon are clearly signposted as you drive into a town so easy to find.

I have an adapter to refill them but don't know if Incan travel abroad with a small calor gas bottle in the car

Looking at this myself. Probability of M1110 propane canisters in France is about zero.
Two possibilities as they are a monster rip off.
An adaptor hose which will connect direct to a calor propane cylinder.
Buy one of these, watch the youtube advice video, buy some Coleman cylinders ONCE then just re fill them from your calor cylinder.
