Hi
We've previously stayed at camping du domaine near bormes les mimosas and loves the beaches in the area and crystal clear water, good for snorkelling! Thinking of a change this year and maybe head to the French/Spanish boarder perhaps somewhere near argeles?? Any recommendations where to go for nice little beaches with rocky coves?? Thanks

Sorry, just to add we were looking at Le cirques de portelis, their pictures on the web page look like it sits on the cliff above some great little coves, are these accessible? Thanks!
Hi the coves are accessible from the site but are pebbly rather than sandy. We didn't think the site looked as pretty as the pictures indicate. Howevere we loved the town of Collioure.
If you're going to go as far south as that, the I would be inclined to continue a bit further and head for some of the lovely coves on the Costa Brava, some just to the north of the Bay of Roses, or between Palamos and Playa d'Aro, which are as near as you'll find to those around Bormes Les Mimosas/Le Lavandou.
We stayed, years ago, at International Calonge, just north of Playa d'Aro, and the coves and beaches around there are delightful, but there are plenty of others along that coast such as at Calella de Palafrugell (not the other Calella which is very different!!).

We are planning to return after 6 years to Les Criques des Porteils and hope we get a cliff top pitch again! It's a lovely walk into Colioure and you can swim from the town beach there so take your togs with you! The little coves are lovely but are very little but the water is crystal clear. Stony not sandy.
