we arrive at Santander at around 6 pm .Looking for a good site to stay the night before heading down to Cambrills via Zaragoza. We have a large 8 m van so a decent size pitch with access is essential. All information would be gratefully.

Beautiful site at the edge of a very pretty village. Pitches were plenty big enough. From memory it was about just under an hour from Santander port.
On the way back we looked at several sites around Santander area, found them all very expensive (€40) and pitch sizes very small and more so the roadways between.
We use the aire at Cabarceno for the last couple of years, we did see a Spanish caravan there last time we stayed!
El Molino is indeed a great site ... we stayed there in 2013 ... see my review.
However, it's hardly on the way to Zaragoza ... you probably want something on the way to Bilbao ... or Bilbao itself (gives you the opportunity to have a look at the stunning Guggenheim Museum building ... even if you don't go in).
Have a look at Camping Sopelana a stone's throw from the metro into Bilbao.

Dot P thanks for the recommendation but the site unfortunately will take us a little off route.
Kepler I will look at your suggestion later today thanks
have you stayed at Sopelana? If so what size are the pitches as we have a 8 mar van. We have used the crossing to Santander for the last 3 years and have stayed overnight at Haro (pitches to small) as well as Play Joel again a little cramped. Do not mind travelling down a few hours if a good site is recomended.
