There may not be as many as you think as some of us have become a bit disillusioned with Camping Cheques. They have just emailed information about sites dropping out of the scheme, and yet they are (were??) still on the website, new sites which have joined haven't been added to the website, and a forum user reports that he has just left a site which is still on the website, and in the guide, and yet isn't accepting Camping Cheques this year!
Francais, there are some sites which accept them all season, but most set 'out of season' dates, which may be up until about the 15th July, and then again from the 12th August.
Their 'face value' depends. In pounds they cost £14.95 from the Caravan Club or Camping Cheques. However, in Europe they cost 16 euros which is currently £11.46. Cheques can be bought from any one of the European Camping Cheque franchise holders at the euro price. Those of us who have fee free credit or debit cards often buy from the French or Dutch websites in particular.

Thanks Val, I have not looked into camping cheques before, so just had a quick glance at the website.
On the surface it seems an ok scheme, although the ACSI set up seems a lot more simplistic.
Problem for us, is that we go mostly mid July, to get the best of the weather, upto 15th July seems good though, so will have a look at what campsites down on the Cote d Azur are taking Camping Cheques as late as that.
Yep Val, that seems to be the case with ACSI as well, I keep saying that I will chance late June, but from the weather of the last few years, July has definitely been the better bet.
Maybe one year though, we will go late June! There I go saying it again.
Can you now reveal the lucky winner of your draw for the chance to buy 7 camping cheques. I am leaving tomorrow for a trip up north and would like to get them sorted before I go , if I am the lucky person.
Just in case you don't want to announce the 'winner' and discuss prices on here, here is my email address:
