Packed the car today. We are heading for Ballinacourty house in The Glen of Aherlow, county Tipperary.
Not only is it the first camping trip this year but it is also the first trip with the new tent. We'll see how it copes with the rain as it looks Iike being a wee bit wet.
Can't wait.

How did you get on Ewen ?
We went to Westport with our new tent and it was brilliant even with the terrible rain so I am very happy.

Great weekend. Absolutely torrential rain but a dry pack up today. In fact, today is lovely.
The tent exceeded expectations though we did inadvertently take up two pitches. We were only told nicely when we were leaving. Did a bit of hillwalking and got soaked. Pitched the tent in the rain and got soaked and it was all great.

I was in North Donegal at the new Wild Atlantic Campsite and although the site was lovely the weather ruined it. Torrential rain, the wind was (according to a website) gusting at 52km per hour. I didn't think the tent would last the night.
Not been to Ballinacourty yet, been tempted as the website looks good.

It is a nice laid back site with a warm welcome. It also has a very good restaurant.
When we arrived reception was closed so it was a case of choose a pitch, which we did. Unfortunately we took two pitches for the tent and 2 cars. The pitches weren't marked so we thought it was a single.
We did have some strong gusts of wind. There would be a noise like a jet plane whooshing down the Glen and the it hit but the tent was like a rock. Probably nothing compared to Donegal or Mayo though.
