Hi folks,
We are heading back over to the Netherlands for our 2nd trip. Taking the caravan and our two boys, age 10 and 12.
We've booked a coastal site for our 2nd week but struggling to decide on our other week. Thought maybe Eindhoven area?. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Only essential in an outdoor pool.
Thanks

Hi not in the Eindhoven area but we've just returned from
Delftse hout camping looked to have a really nice outdoor pool about a mile outside of delft city centre
------------- April Peak District Beech Croft Farm
May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders
Yeah, we stayed close to there last year and looked nice. We've booked koningsoft for a week so that's quite close to Delft too. There are just so many lovely sites to choose from.
Thanks for your reply!
Hello my son was working in Eindhoven and we stayed with our caravan here.

It was a few years ago now we went in march it was freezing but the site is quite close to veldhoven and Eindhoven plus many lakes. Close to the motorway . A busy hi tec type of place modern with lots of shops etc this has a pool .
We went then the following year and stayed in a mini camp site near veldhoven .
http://www.campingdeveldhoeve.nl again we went in march . This was a small site again in a nice location quiet near lakes. No pool maybe to quite for children Only 16 pitches with private bathrooms . If you know the Netherlands it's a good idea to take bikes.
We have since been to delftse hout this is a long way from Eindhoven closer to the beaches and coast . This is a much different part of the Netherlands. My son is now working in amsterdam so we find it nearer to visit him . Probably more to do and places to go in delft but it depends on what you want . Have you looked at this site
http://www.duinrell.nl not that I have been there.
Good luck . Have a look at the camping and caravaning Europe carefree brochure for ideas of site .

We are currently staying at Recrietiepark TerSpegelt at Eersel. No outdoor pool but a swimming lake with slides and an indoor pool. Don't know if it would be a problem for you but they don't allow dogs. Lots for children to do including a lake with pedallos and another for boating.
Just south west of Eindhoven and about 20kms from the Belgian border.
Natural scenery in Holland is not that spectacular & the charm of the country lies in the scenery the Dutch have built themselves, buildings, leisure facilities, sea walls, locks & so on. More interesting probably is the Flevoland area which was underwater before '75 & also north coast & the islands are quite nice. Water up there & a whole town down there behind a wall is an interesting concept which is difficult to grasp.
The Dutch are also big on constructed leisure facilities & there are holiday parks all over so if thats what you want then mostly its the holiday park, not the actual area where you are.
I would say Eindhoven region is least interesting part of Holland. Places where land & water meet are the nicest parts because the relationship with land & water is what defines Holland.

A few years ago we stayed at Camping De Graspol at Sint-Oedenrode which is not far from Eindhoven. It is a fairly simple campsite with some massive pitches. Unfortunately no swimming pool
Thanks so much for all your useful feedback. So glad I have some starting points!
We stayed at Duinrell last year. Fantastic site set next to a lovely town but our youngest wasn't so keen on the theme park. That is the only reason preventing us from returning there this year.
We've stayed at Bospark T'Wolfsven at Mierlo near Eindhoven. It has three lakes, one for swimming, with a beach and water slide, one for boating, and one for fishing, also an indoor swimming pool. There were lots of kids' activities. As someone else said, the surrounding countryside isn't particularly interesting but there's everything you need on site.
