Hi can anyone recommend somewhere where my family and I can get some breakfast when we arrive at Caen ferry port.

Thanks in advance

Caen ferry port is actually Ouistreham which is a small town on the coast. There are cafes just outside the terminal wich are geared to ferry passengers incoming or outgoing, but the parking on the port is restricted, and in high season could be difficult, esp ith a car and caravan. It is possible to do a drive round of the parking on your left, but just off the boat you may be a bit tense, there is parking on the terminal.
Probably the best is a supermart Carrefour about 700 yds on the road out, with ample parking, and most supermarts in France now have more than reasonable cafes.
Caen is about 5 miles away, and at breakfast rush hour, no place to be with a car and caravan.

Last 2 years we've used the ferry facilities to the left of the embarkation lanes at Ouistreham as you arrive, last time just this Sunday night. Both times it's been fine for us. Although the self-service on the boat is still open when we've got on for the o/n, it's too late for us to be eating then so the cafe there does the job.

We've only used it for the return but I would imagine for breakfast on arrival it will still feel a bit less rushed than on the boat, but as FM says, for 'vans just landing it may actually be easier to drive on a bit and pull into the nearest Leclerc etc.

Caen itself we found very quiet and we couldn't find anywhere for lunch as we walked round the centre (Sunday). We drove on to Bénouville and had a great day at the Memorial Pegasus and bridge.

Have a super trip!

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
