Hi folks,
just a reminder to anyone spending time in the Bernese Oberland of the BeoAbo travel card in the region. Available from any train station, the BeoAbo - a zoned system covering the whole Bernese area - costs from 55 CHf (seniors), 68 CHf (adult) and 51 CHf (juniors) for two zones. The pass gives inclusive travel on the train, bus and cable-car system in the appropriate zones for a month. For example given that one trip on the cable-car, Stechelberg to Murren, costs 10.80 CHf the pass will soon pay for itself if you are in the region for more than a couple of days.
A passport size photo is required at the time of purchase.
More info, and a diagarm of the zone layout, is at
http://www.beoabo.ch/de/zonenplan.php

Hi bofs, If you are visiting anywhere near Lauterbrunnen I would like to promote Camping Breithorn. On the right about 300-metres past the Trummelbach Falls. It's a small very well-run site which caters for all types of van or camper, with electric hook-up if you want one. More info at http://www.campingbreithorn.ch/ (in German).
We are there up to 2nd September ('Heidi High' on the left) come and say hello.
Regards, Tony

Tony, with regards to the site one review mentions that it is in shadow after about 4pm because of the mountain sides.. Does this make it cool for eating/sitting out early evening? We would probably be arriving just as you're leaving unfortunately.
