Hi all, been looking for campsites in France which tick all our boxes and would really appreciate any inside info on the type of sites we are after... Looking southern brittany and as far as La Rochelle area - getting st malo ferry (already booked!) Water slides a must, but not big water park style - still want a reasonably quiet site (or as quiet as they get in school hols!), near beaches, & also private bathrooms quite high in the priorities due to our family needs.
Any recommendations will be gratefully received.
Happy camping!
Dan
P.S trailer tent before you ask!

I think that Camping la Pinede at Les Mathes near La Palmyre, a little way south of La Rochelle - has the sort of facilities you are asking for - but how quiet you can expect a site with water slides to be in school summer holidays is another matter .
Not South, but near St Malo, a friend of mine has been to camping Haliotis a few times, she's just come back, said the private bathrooms were to die for. And was only £24 per night.

I think you will need to be quick if you want a pitch with a private bathroom for this summer, as they tend to book up quickly.
The only two I know of are Haliotis as mentioned above and L'Oree du Bois in La Palmyre, about 40 miles beyond La Rochelle.
The latter is a large site which gets very busy, and it's not cheap for the private bathroom pitches.
