Hi all.
Has anyone had first hand experience regarding any delays/problems using the channel tunnel recently? Were off camping in France early Wednesday morning. I've heard about operation stack and other issues, but not sure if we need to allow extra time for traveling to the tunnel. many thanks

There a lots of recent posts on the forum under Dover Calais and so on At present no operation stack so all running reasonable but anything can happen by Wednesday so my advice would be yes allow extra time even if someone comes back through today and says all Ok it could all change by tomorrow

We went out on the tunnel 3 weeks ago Wednesday, right as operation stack was in full swing.Left home 2 hours earlier than usual and arrived at the terminal only 20mins longer on our usual journey and no delay on our departure time. Returned on Thursday last week to find stack back in operation at Calais.Booked in on train for 30 mins later than our booked departure due to 'incident' in the tunnel, but ended up leaving at original booking time.
So overall I'd say leave with plenty of time spare but hopefully you'll get through as smoothly as usual.
We travelled during operation stack and the journey time was increased by 1 &1/2 hours. we had allowed an hour extra so missed our train, we were booked onto one 2 hours later at no extra cost. We returned last sunday with no delays at all, arrived with an hour to spare and were booked onto train before one we expected! Best allow plenty of time and check website and twitter. Enjoy your holiday
