We are going to France in August and for the first time taking the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo,.
We are planning on travelling to Portsmouth early to ensure we are there on time and allow us some time to perhaps grab a bite to eat and stretch legs etc.
Is there somewhere at the ferry terminal that we can park up with the caravan? Can't seem to find the info easily on Brittany web page.
Our sailing is at 8pm.
Thanks in advance.

We did that journey and whilst we didn't use it I noted a lorry park nearby that would take caravans and even had hook up if you wanted it. Google it you should find it as I did.
As long as you arrive after the time of the previous sailing you will be able to park up in the check in lane at the terminal. Don't see why you then can't leave the van, as long as you are back for check in opening. Not sure how long before the sailing that is (I'm guessing a couple of hours) but you should be able to phone up and find out if need be.
We had a really smooth journey and ended up very early (3-4hrs before check-in opened). We just had to pull up and keep out of the way. We were the afternoon sailing so there were other sailings before ours. We ended to walking to sainsburys and morrisons and back. The same journey a couple of weeks earlier had taken hrs linger than it should of hence setting off so early.

We did just that yesterday. I spoke to the BF people and they were none committal about being allowed to leave ethereal caravan there. 1 even suggested we park in the multi storey.. with the caravan. Mmmmm. So I headed into the terminal building and spoke to security, they took down our regular, and contact numbers and said as long as we're close up to the yellow fence it was OK. We left it for about 3 hours whilst we went to watch the Americas cup. When we returned there was only 1 other van there with us. They started queuing for st malo aboit 4 pm is, and started loading 6 ish. Typically we didn't actually get loaded til about 745 though. I learnt if you've got bikes on top of the car you get on first!!!!
Have a great trip, and head for security not BF!!! Oh, and 1 security guy said we had to stay on site, but what I think was the head guy said no it wasn't necessary as they had our details and to enjoy the afternoon.
