I'm a newbie & this is my first post - so hi everyone!

We're heading down to Sommieres at the end of next week, to Domaine de Massereau.

I was just wondering if anyone had recommendations for places worth visiting nearby (within a couple of hours drive).

Looking for beach recommendations, nice old towns, scenic drives, markets etc

Is Montpellier itself worth a look?

Likewise, what should we avoid?

Thanks for the replies everyone - some great ideas there which should fill my lunch hour researching!

It's going to be our second year visiting Sommieres, so we're pretty familiar with the town itself (althouigh we somehow missed the wine co-operative! That will be rectified this year!), but we didn't explore the area too much last time.
