My sons are 10 and 13 and they always have lots to do. On arrival the reception gives you an A4 sheet of all the activities for the week. They have archery, tennis, pedal karts, discos, boating on the lake, visiting basketball demo, huge playground and games pitches. Mine also love riding around the site with friends on their bikes. The Grand Défi high wires is just down the road in St Julien village. There are great beaches nearby, both big wave surfing/boarding ones and calm rock pool ones. Many larger beaches have surf schools.
We have camped in several places in France, and although La G. does have a majority of Brits, it does make it easier to make friends. Near to Dax a few years ago, the boys struggled to chat to the other kids (lots of Spanish).
Hope this helps!

We had a look around as my cousin was staying there...it wasn't for us...many of the pitches are a good distance from the pool / playground / shop etc...playground was enormous and our daughter loved it, but the pool was small and dated looking. Have a look at Guyonniere...we went and had a look around that too and it was far nicer, but also very spread out. We stayed on Pin Parasol this year and we liked it, booked for next year on a grand comfort pitch, but to be honest, most of the touring pitches on there are cramped...the pitch we had was not available next year as they are putting more mobile homes on...Guyonniere was predominately touring pitches, mostly a good size, but some under trees.
