I wanted to pop by Cite Europe on my way back to the ferry but hubby isn't keen, thinks there is a chance the trailer may get looted.
A while back someone mentioned somewhere big about 60k outside Calais where we can top up the tank and buy a few last minute luxuries... Anyone know what it's called or where it is?

If you are coming from the south on the A 16 there is an excellent shopping centre on the outskirts of boulogne. I think Cite Europe is a bit of a disappointment. A big hypermarket with a load of shops aimed at kids so you are not missing anything.
There is a large Auchen at St Martin on the outskirts of Boulougne on the route to St Omer. Otherwise there are numerous smaller Carrefour Markets virtually in any smaller towns.
I agree that Cite Europe is a disappointment, its looking a bit tired these days and not even that big. It also has many of the same stores and brands that you can find in nicer shopping malls in the UK and elsewhere.

I think those of us that have been using the Cite de Europe shopping centre since it was first built have seen it change over the years and the reason is simple. Originally it was very UK centric but as the booze cruises ended and exchange rates got worse the British visitors became much fewer. They now seem to concentrate on their French customers which is I expect the difference people have seen. WE always used to stay near Calais on the way home so that we could spend a day there but now with the motorhome we just shop en route. In recent years the value has not been so good although this year I expect has seen something of a turnaround.
Any large hypermkt will entail leaving trailer unattended and well out of your view. If that worries you stop in any smallish town on your route back you will find a smaller Carrefour or Super U whatever and you can leave car in carpark more or less in view while you shop. Smaller supermkts have same stuff at similar prices.

There is also quite a large LeClerc at Boulogne, which we have used on a number of occasions. Only ever tried Cite Europe once and somehow didn't get to where we wanted to be, so gave up and never tried it since!
The St Omer Auchan is a fair way off the main A26, probably 10mins and car park is always very crowded if you are parking a caravan but otherwise ok and there is a Decathlon there as well.
