Went there about 10 years ago, right at the start of the season. It was lovely. Nice site, friendly people.

There are much more recent reviews here.

It's a bit like marmite, some people love it others not!
Personally we didn't, too big and non stop music blaring out round the pool. The only good thing about it was the free boat trip from the site to the beach! As Lisex says, read reviews on here for an idea.

I can't speak for the campsite having never been, it sure looks a nice campsite going of the website.

Way out of our league at those pitch prices though, we returned to a delightful 3 Star campsite at Frejus in July for our 15 nights, which worked out at 224€ per week, inc Electric and Tourist Tax for 2 persons on a 130 sq m pitch.

Of course with just 80 Touring pitch's the campsite we went to did not have all the trappings of a large campsite like L'etoile, so I can guess you can see were the extra money goes.

Where ever you go camping in and around Frejus, it still makes for a superb base for visiting places along the Cote d Azur.

We will be back again next year, that's for sure.

Francois what's the name of that site please? We like smaller ones and were always on the lookout for a good one! Have you reviewed it?

Like Francais, we stay just nearby in a smaller, quieter and less expensive site.

The site is outside Frejus and has a shortcut road down to the beach, right outside the campsite. However it is totally unsuitable for cars as the potholes are really small chasms containing the bones of unwary travellers. However it is negotiable by bike and hits the coast between Frejus and St Aygulf.

There is a boat down the Argens to the beach but looks rather grotty. It probably is useful if going there by foot and having to carry beachy things.

From the outside, the site seems clean, large and a bit hi-di-hi for our tastes. But then we are boring wrinklies

Hi Bridie, Stuart above has done a couple of reviews on "Camping de Vaudois" at Roquebrune-Sur-Argens.

It's a ACSI listed campsite, although I have been telling ACSI for the last 3 years, that they have it wrongly listed as "Camping Le Vaudois".

Interesting that you mention the wi-fi Stuart, I think they were having a real problem, when we were there in July, all the individual login tickets that they give each camper all got cancelled.

Then a sign went up at reception, with a generic login for all to use.

Still a faff though, and the connection still depended on which end of the table you were at!, not to mention that the table gets plunged into darkness after 10pm!

No problem though, I took my Outwell 400LX Lantern for use after the curfew fell!

Great campsite still though, and they have extended the swimming pool use from 2.30pm to 6.30pm, used to be 2pm to 6pm, well not really an extension, morning is still 10am to 12 noon!.

We're heading off on fri 28th august so prices drop massively, 13 nights on a 180 sq m pitch comes in at 430 euros going 2 weeks earlier it costs 773 euros for a 100 sq m pitch ! it's great to able to avoid school holidays

Yep, fair comment Scooby40 and we could go at that time of the year
and the cost would be just 84€ per week for 130sqm
Pitch with Electric at our campsite of choice.

But September is pushing it for decent weather
along with the nights starting to draw in.

Next year will be going to Frejus, late June early
July, hopefully for decent weather at 84€ per week.

Apart from the weather risk, I am sure September in Provence
will be just as lovely even though it is so late in the season.

I think prices so late in the season are more to with the weather, than school holidays, and of course demand.

Enjoy.

That is good, although most Tent EHU are only rated to 10amp, so 16amp supply is irrelevant really.
