Can anyone recommend somewhere with properly secure parking (we travel with a trailer) approximately 4 hours drive from Calais en route to the Dordogne ? Looking for a hotel, not a campsite, as we just can't be bothered to unpack and pitch for one night. Thanks

When we went to the Dordogne in 2012, we stopped at the Campanile in Vierzon, but that may be a little further than you want to go. Worth having a look at Campanile, we have used for many years.

We mostly use "Premiere Classe" budget hotels, which worked out at £25 per night back in July, at that kind of money it's not worth pitching the Tent for just one night.
Most PC have secure fenced gated parking, and the bonus of a Campanile hotel restaurant adjacent, were PC clients enjoy 15% discount of the evening meal, although you do have to ask for the discount.
We used 4 PC and 1 B&B last July, could not fault any of them.
A look on google street, helps with checking out the car park status.
