My main concern is weather. We LOVED the wall to wall sunshine in the south of France!! Just how good is the weather in S Austria in the middle of August>

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
When we are in S Austria in June it is very warm high 20's to mid 30's. Of course you are in the mountains and you get a lot of thunder storms in late evenings/nights but usually the next morning everything is sunny and warm again.
We have chosen Camping am Worthersee in Klagenfurt. So now onto the route planning!
Wevare thinking that Calais to Stuttgart is about the right length of journey before stopping for an overnight.
Anyone any thoughts on that as an idea?

We would be setting up the same afternoon that we get there. I agree that Stuttgart would be too far away from our destination; I'd prefer Munich but then that adds on to the previous day's journey.
I'm thinking this one is going to have to be a 2 stop-over job! Anyone been via any of the Dutch/Belgium ports? This seems to take about 2 hours off vs. Calais, with the added bonus of a good few hours sleep. I have a ferry Harwich to Hook of Holland about £240 with cabins for the three of us.
This is going to take a lot of planning!
