We are staying in a two man tent for most of our time apart from the 1st two nights when we are staying in a hotel in Reims.  Then from Reims we will be working our way down to the south of France then into Italy.

Saxoann,

44 was too hot for us too!  Last year we were in La Rochelle and went back to the car at about 2pm to find it had reached 40.  We were baking.  The kids were ok as long as we stayed by the pool or the sea, or were in the car with aircon on! But I was dying!!  Must admit anything 30 and above is fine by me.  Last year we had a few cloudy days too which spoiled it a little but when the heat returned we realised it was a welcome break.  Where are you off to this year?

We pick up the van from storage in Dinan on 9 September head up to Delft for 7 days and then down to Le Brevedent (Pont L'Eveque) for another 7 days.  As usual like a small child I am already getting excited even more so as this will be our first holiday in our new to us 'van.

Hello there,

Sorry for delay in getting back regarding the muzzling of dogs in Italy.

I don't know off hand what the regulations are, BUT ..

I've only ONCE ever seen a muzzled dog here. I regularly see people walking Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Sheppards and even Pitbulls in public parks, among playing children, without muzzles, and even sometimes without leashes !!

Italy can be a confusing country, lots and lots of rules & regulations that are there, just to be ignored.

I do see people cleaning up their dogs poo however, so that's a plus.

I guess, best advice would be to bring a muzzle anyway, then view the situation when here.

If I get anymore info. I'll pass it on.

Ciao a tutti and enjoy your hols.

Spudz

Hi Anne,

Yes I've been to Lake Garda, but never camping .. actually that's not strickly true.
I did spend a night in a campsite 2 years ago with an english family. I got very drunk and slept under the stars. Does that count as a camping experience?

This might be what you are looking for.

Enjoy your hols.

Ah,

Sorry that I can't be of any more help.

When are you going?
I have to do a trial run of all this new camping gear before we head off early august.
Since Garda is not too far away from me, I might check out the camp site mid July, purely for research reasons. I'm sure they have beer and starry skies in that camp site too!
Let me know

Spudz

Yes we are, already been there three times and just love the place, we always chose for a lakeside pitch under the trees, nice and shady on a hot day.
