We stayed in I' Ile Bouchard in 1999, a long time ago, I know!
We stayed in a site right next to the island on the river bank. We didn't go into the village much because we were off touring around the towns along the Loire and buying wine. It seemed quiet and not at all 'touristy' from what I remember.
