You'll probably find it advisable to book (or at least ring in advance at Le Paradis). Last time we were there we turned up and got a pitch, but that was just after lunchtime. Later in the afternoon the site was filled.

Well I don't need to say too much as everyone else has done it for me - this year will be year number 6 at Le Paradis - I can't fault it - it's perfect for families and your boys will love it !
Looking at the area around Camping Le Paradis, where do people go for the supermarket run. No doubt the local village is adequate for basics but how far is the nearest major outlet?
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for all the messages..I am happy to announce that we decided on Soleil Plage and have booked for 2 weeks in August!!!
Now we just need to sort out our overnight stop. Somewhere in-between Calais and the Dordogne?...We thought Orleans, but if anyone has any ideas, that would be great....

Le Bugue - couple of smallish ones, Lidl, Intermarche. Sarlat - huge new Leclerc and 2-3 smallish others, smallish Intermarche at Montignac. Having said that I have never stayed at St Leon sur Vezere.
They built a new Intermarche on the road into Montignac from St Leon a few years ago which is much larger than the old one complete with petrol station and cafe and is the nearest large supermarket to Le Paradis. Also a Leader Price (I think)'on the same site. Small shop in St Leon and a mini market in Thonac on the way to Montignac.

Hi Kate, depending on how far off route you want to venture on your way down, you might like Camping Chateau des Marais. It's a lovely site between Orleans and Blois, near the chateau at Chambord. I've reviewed it on here, so you can have a read if you like. It's got a great pool area for younger children.
