Hi, looking for some suggestions for sites on the Costa Dorada for the first two weeks in August, I have done the usual searches but interested in experiences of those that have been, family of four with a twin axle, youngest is 8, walking to a sandy beach is a definite requirement, view of the sea would be a bonus! Swimming pool and restaurant bar should be standard I expect! Not looking for much! Many thanks in advance.

Yes I know such a site, been there several times over the years, ticks all your boxes including larger & more expensive pitches to fit twin axle, these are near the pool/bar & direct beach access & some have sea views but it's naturist. Do you want details?
Sanguli in Salou will fit all your bills - except the sea view. It's across the road, but walking distance to the beach. It has all the usual things - and we used to stay on the 'sister site' Cambrils Park (which sadly doesn't take tourers). We visited Sanguli several times to see friends.
Here's another possible search option, which is 'beach within .5 km, pool, and takes twin axles...... it's from the Eurocampings Website which not everyone knows about - the website shows all the Dutch ACSI inspected sites.
Look at the Camping Montroig website, it is near Cambrils and right on the beach. Yes there are even some pitches facing the sea but these are more expensive and are probably taken. It has everything for all age groups, most people have been going back there for years, I mean 20 years plus, so that speaks for itself. Yes it is a little more expensive than nearby sites but you get what you pay for.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Thanks for the replies will be sure to check them out, looking to get the ferry to santander or bilbao and drive straight there, 8 hours seem about right? I like to just get there unless there is something worth seeing en route?
I'm going to throw something in here, that may seem terrible on a camping forum, but for the cost of the ferry to Santander, and two weeks high season site fees, you could perhaps fly to Reus and stay in one of the chalets at Cambrils Park - which is a lovely site with everything you need in walking distance. It sounds as if you 'just want to get there' and that would be the quickest way, and when you add up all the costs, perhaps not any more expensive.
