Help please!
We're frequent campers (tent) in France but doing Provence this year - and the grandparents will join us.
Challenge is, we love small sites but they don't camp so I need a nice smallish site but with a mobile home or a B&B on doorstep too
We'll do day trips so somewhere not too far out too. Any ideas folks?
HUGE thanks

But if you really mean a small campsite there is Camping Le Pesquie at Eygalieres - a few miles east of St Remy de Provence. It has about 20 pitches in an orchard of fruit trees and cypresses, one or two fixed tents , a tree house , a gypsy caravan, and a couple of wooden chalets - and those latter two might suit you.

We liked the site when we were there this year - simple, clean, quiet, and well equipped, though no swimming pool. But we didn't ask to inspect the chalets or ask how they are furnished.

Hi all
Thanks for the answers thus far - much appreciated!
Our ideal is the camping a la ferme concept - certainly ideally no more than 20 or 30 spaces...

Thanks again!
Moira

Another possibility might be Camping les Joncquiers at St Martin de Castillon - a little way East of Apt in the Luberon so perhaps a bit outside your area. I have had my eye on it for some time but not personally been, though it looks immaculate from the website. Owned and run by two ladies - Dutch I think - 30 pitches in a natural setting, but adult only and no dogs, nice looking swimming pool, and has two gites on site.

We stayed at Provence camping in Lambesc, see my review on here. They had a section of chalets, plus touring pitches.
Off the main road to Aix en Provence, the bottom section is next to fields, pleasantly rural, but not miles from anywhere.

Again, thanks all thus far!

We've used that farm one before Stuart - great resource isn't it, but sadly nothing in Provence of note.

Am currently hoping a haggle with St Gabriel in St Remy will pay off - the one week we're looking at their mobile homes are bizarrely outrageously expensive compared to other places and the campsite ain't cheap either! Fingers crossed...

Hi Farnham, I looked at that campsite's prices, and yes, I see what you mean.

We solved the problem a few years ago by rounding up even more of the family - in all 14 people from three generations of us - and rented a really expensive house with a private pool and wonderful facilities. And the cost when split four ways between the four households (all family) was cheaper than mobile homes on a crowded campsite. And we didn't quarrel at all.

You could try Le Bregoux at Aubignan just north of Carpentras. They have a few mobile homes and are a small but perfectly formed municipal site. Ideally placed for trips to Orange, Avignon, mount Ventoux , Rhone Valley wines . site is on the edge of the village next to vine yards. Very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Thanks Anne. They have 164 pitches so a bit big for us but thank you for the thought.

Berriow, stepped away from St Gabriel due to pricing and looking like opting instead for Fontisson just east of Avignon. Looks an ok option, not outrageously expensive and the owner has been very helpful thus far with this fussy englishwoman!
