i ask because if its to see the Viaduct, my personal view is that its not worth basing a holiday on?
i traveled back from spain on my motorbike and made an effort to see the viaduct. it is worth seeing but maybe on a day trip or passing through. we visited the visitors centre and rode miles out of our way to enable us to cross the viaduct. when crossing the viaduct you cant actually see over the sides as there are wind shields both sides.
the Tarn gorges are nearby though and i would recommend stay there and taking a trip to see the viaduct.
Sorry to go off topic, but have they changed the wind shields, as they used to be clear Perspex.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

my visit was in 2011. just looked a a picture i took and the shields were transparent but were like louvers so you couldnt see much detail of below through them especially at 50+mph.
thinking back the climb out of the valley (where Millau is) up to the motorway above was more enjoyable than the ride across the bridge.
It's a bit of a walk into Millau, along the road - no real footpaths. We like the site, and the situation alongside the river but as we get older I wouldn't want to walk back along the road after a meal out in Millau.
You might want to take a look at Indigo Millau (used to be Cote Sud) which is the nearest site to Millau itself, and looks to have undergone some improvement. It's probably about the same size at St Lambert, and in rather a nice loop of the river.
Otherwise have a look at the Municipal site in Le Rozier - Municipal de Brouillet - which is in a nice situation and almost in the centre of the village.

We stayed le rivages. few yrs ago but was to busy for us and site at aguassac.but, but thought we would like to be nearer millau.will look at cote sud thanks val.
We stayed last year the same weekend that all the people were travelling home at the end of August and the rates had just dropped to low season. Consequently the site was very quiet and we had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time. The position on the river is good for swimming with a couple of nice deep pools. I have to say the sanitaires are not the most modern we have come across but clean all the same. The couple who run the site were very nice, easy to chat to and always helpful. Did not use the restaurant so cannot comment. The road is busy and the traffic moves at a pace. There is a fair road walk until you meet up with the cycle path further down. We always cycled into town and I think it would be a bit of a trek if it was a hot day.
We stayed at Cote Sud just before it became Indigo Millau. It is really well situated and we liked the site (and the hedgehog that came in the tent!)
We don't go to chains usually but I might make an exception for this one.
