Hello any help welcomed for a family with 5 year old and 13 year old travelling from Tuscany to UK in 13 days. Staying south because it will be warmer. Complete novices to campervaning. Thanks in advance

You want to come from Tuscany to Britain, in a camper, this time of the year? Are you crazy? But if you like high prices, cold damp weather and bland stodgy food you couldn't wish for a better destination.

What kind of thing are you looking for?

Mid wales has fantastic scenery as does the Lake District although it's quite an additional drive to get up to the lakes. I think mid wales is much like Switzerland in it's landscape and the people are great.

Cornwall has it's own laid back culture, cider and fantastic beaches.

The midlands and Shropshire have some good museums of industrial heritage.......

However, I could think of nicer places on mainland Europe to spend my hard earned and few holidays in.

I'm from this great country. I'm driving a campervan back from the factory to the uk. So I'm looking for Italy/France tips, stops or anything really. Although maybe if this goes ok then I will do a trip to see some of our beautiful country.

Are you travelling for 13 days or in 13 days?

With a 5 year old,how much travelling do you want to do in a day?

Is the journey part of the holiday or a nuisance necessary to get to the UK?

When in UK there is always Yorkshire (il culo del mondo) or the soaring mountains of Essex.

Sounds to me as though the OP is setting off in 13 days to bring a campervan back to the UK and wants advice on places to stop en route.

If you travel the Lake Garda, Brenner pass route, the scenery will be spectacular but you will need advice from others about the best route, and whether the roads will be clear snow wise.

Otherwise, depending on where you are setting off from, you could head round the coast into France, enjoy whatever warmth in the south, and make a dash north up the autoroutes. This will cost quite a lot in tolls, but so would the tunnels and so on through Switzerland et al.

The dash through France can be done in a couple of days, or less, but we tend to allow at least 3, or more. Campsites further north may not be open yet so more incentive to linger south. There will be camperstops open, I expect, but we don't use those.

Able88, I imagine that if you are collecting a new van from the factory you won't have half the things on board that make touring comfortable - and the weather is pretty bleak right now - so look at the map and come straight home. And take care.

Is this a way of cutting out the middle man?

Should we all know about this Able?

It's a deal from Just Go. It's a way for them to get their new fleet back to UK. No such luck that we get to keep it.
Thank you for the tips. Sorry I was a bit vague with the original post.
We are rank beginers at this so I'm not sure if I will end up after 13 days wanting to do something nasty to the family or we will love it. It will be an adventure.
Booked 3 sites already but hoping to wing it a bit too.
1 near Florence and 1 in Pisa and one near Paris for Parc asterix, bribery for the end of trip.
