Has anyone been here recently or know about it? Would there be much to do for a 4 year old and are the shows, stories etc just in Dutch or is there some sort of translation device? Has anyone used or seen the Village or hotel (for extended family) or have campsite recommendations? I don't know anyone who's been so first hand experience would be very welcome.

My son and his family have been a number of times and love it, I am seeing him tomorrow so will ask him and post later. They stayed on site so I don,t know about any campsites.
My son lives not far from there he went last year and said how nice it was the photos looked very attractive. Almost magical .
I am not sure if they have a web site or if it will show how nice it is .
I'm sure you will love it ,

great parc, lots to do (also for a 4 year old one)
Accomodation isn't cheap.
But in the area you can find good, clean B&B's or hotels
Summer and bank holidays is teh Efteling to crowded for me.
Brilliant park lots to do for all ages.
Never stayed onsite, wouldn't want to Dutch Caravan sites are great.
I would rather do De Eftling than Disney.
Not been for a few years must get back.

My goodness, can't believe it's still going! We used to go in the early 1980's when we lived in Germany and Efteling was over the border in Holland. Our boys were under 5, they loved it. Especially the talking litter bins - not a scrap of litter anywhere. When the bin was 'fed' it said dankashun, when not being fed they would say "papier here". Genius idea. The park was immaculate.
Coloured pigeons, tulip beds and wonderful tableaux of interactive fairy stories.
The giant whose neck grew, the Aladdin carpet with the genie..............
Happy memories of years long gone.
Are you taking a caravan or tent ? Dutch sites are very good . Also look at mini sites in NL some have excellent facilities.

We went, but it was a while ago now. It's absolutely magic. Way more 'fairytale' than Disneyland.
You're all going to laugh if I say there were big mushrooms in the Enchanted Forest that sing as you go past. But it's true! Apart from that the huge indoor steam carousel was my favourite ride.
Sounds brilliant. Thanks everyone. We have a caravan but son and family would need accommodation which is why I was asking about the Efteling village/hotel, unless there is a campsite with statics or similar nearby.
I love the idea of singing mushrooms, by the way!

Spoken to my Son , he says your 4 year old will love it, they just saw one Show which was in Dutch but that didn,t detract from it at all.Their two girls love it and are going again at Easter for probably the 4th time. The Hotels on site are pretty expensive but very convenient. He said Enjoy yourselves.
We went in 2oo7 and it was great. We've got a campervan and stayed in a campsite attached to the Beekse Bergan Safari Park - it was brilliant (on a lake).
We went last year and stayed in an appartment. We went in our Easter holidays and was quiet. I didn't think it was expensive, just look carefully at dates. Such a great place to stay! My two were 3 and 6, we all loved it and will go back next year. Staff are all so friendly, we would order our supplies for breakfast and they would be hanging on your door by 8.
