Great campsite with fantastic view as its at the foot of William the Conquerors castle! If you have time, the castle is well worth a visit, very interesting and stunning views of surrounding area. Watch the turning for the site as its a bit sharp and if you miss it, you have to reverse up a one way street...as we did with a 26ft van on back. Amused locals if nothing else!!
Hi, Realise this is an oldish thread but does anyone have any recent info about this site please?
The web link goes to the site for the town/mairie for Falaise and the only info I can see about the campsite seems to be advising about redevelopment work planned (as far as my limited French can make out). It says 'intersaison 18/19' which I would guess to be after the summer season, but any info members can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks
The ACSI wesite suggests it's open, and 13euros per night. Municipal sites often don't have their own website or even a reception, (sometimes It's just a man whi comes round to collect fees) but you could ring the Mairie to find out if it's definitely open.
You can get in contact thru the town website if you search for possible ways to stay and Camping will come up. You can then reserve your pitch we have done this several times for a stop close to Ouisterham ferry
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I think I've found the 'proper' website now: https://camping-falaise.premium.secureholiday.net/en/6665/
Does this look right?
Slightly confusing as there appears to be two different entries on the campsite search, one says Camping Municipal du Chateau and the other Camping Municipal de Falaise - however both have the same address, albeit both web links pointing to the Mairie and neither to the website above.
Eu20 per night for 2 people inc EHU seems a bit steep for a municipal, but if it's as nice as everyone says then it will be worth it.
