Well. We stayed there in late June 2010. My memories of it are not good. Definitely felt out of season, a few permanent residents, a couple of overnighters, Dutch I think, unfriendly warden, no food, quite close to road so in a tent, noisy in the morning.
It felt like it was entirely geared up for the summer school holidays and I am sure then it would feel very different. For us, in comparison to many, many over-nights we have had over the years, it was not one we would repeat.
Having said that, that was 6 years ago and also it might feel very different in August.
I wished at the time we had carried on to Troyes. Not sure why we didn't, getting late maybe. I do remember, when we arrived, we had one of those conversations that maybe many other campers have had. "Well, what do you think? Shall we stay or shall we go on and try the next one?" And without one or other of us feeling passionate one way or another we stay and sometimes regret it!
Sorry to pour a bucket of cold water on your idea. You did ask!
