Haven't seen anything about this on here, but happy to be corrected!

Just a heads up on major roadworks through Dover on A20 to the port in addition to the HGVs being held further back. Long term until Feb 2017 I think it said.

I drive along that section each week, the roadworks are along the road between the eastern and western docks, and the westbound section is down to one lane. I have not been held up yet though I could see that it might be a small problem when lots of lorries are coming off the ferries and heading to the A20.

It's an absolute pain, and delays traffic - so if I were you I would take the alternative route via the A2.

Hi all

Came off the 1045 from Calais this morning arrived in Dover at 1115 same time as the DFDS from Dunkirk and the traffic was tailed back into the docks.

Come Whitsun it will be worse as more people travelling so suggest take A2 route to Sittingbourne and then via Detling hill to A20.

The A2 to the M2, and then left onto the A249, down Detling hill to the M20 would be the way to go. Don`t stay on the A2 to Sittingbourne.
