Has anyone towed their caravan over this bridge ? The poor car for it hard to make it last year with a small trailer but wondering what it like to tow a caravan over it - would be travelling from Rennes down to vendee and travel through st nazerine

The St Nazaire bridge is steepish up and over, but no different from the bridge on the west side of the Nantes ring road. If those two concern you use the east side of the Nantes ring road which is flat.
Hi Safron, we towed our van across the Nantes west bridge last year. We didn't have any problems. However the traffic was very heavy and quite slow with a few stop starts on the bridge. We went across the St Nazaire bridge ( without the van)later in the week and found its traffic moved at a more steady pace.
Yes it is a hill but no worse than many others in France. Frankly, if you can't tow over there, you are either overloaded or not using the correct gear.
