And you would have had excellent weather down here, its crazy nearly middle May andbits still 22deg and just returned from my daily swim in the Ocean which is still 20deg. We are coming over in the end of August. See you there. Cheers Aussie Mick

According to French newspapers and French radio, whilst we were there last week, the 2015 'Camping Season' in France was the most successful EVER! This year (2016) is expected to be even better from the number of nights already booked. Despite the feeling we all have that it's the Dutch who fill campsites, over two thirds of pitches are filled by French people, with the Dutch next!

We have just experienced the May 8 holiday where the campsite went from 4 units to completely full (258 units + chalets) back to 4 units in the space of 3 days.

So the french are certainly camping when they can.

There are huge numbers of Dutch and German campers here in Croatia, plus a small number of French. We've only come across one other Brit caravan, and they were from Ireland.

We'll be over in 2 weeks for a week, then back for a week in summer.
We're going to do 1 of our weeks camping in the site you recommended on Oleron Stuart! (There's a great article on Ile d' Oleron in last month's camping & caravanning magazine).

At Luxemont, Marne (51),France, very quiet, Two Dutch caravans, two Swiss and a Brit still here and a German overnighter left earlier. We have just had St Glace when we have three cold days which often marks the last of the frosts. This morning it was white over and is very mixed, sun and cloud with menacing grey clouds lurking. Hope it warms up soon, not the same barbecuing in a fleece, hat and top coat.
