Dear all
Having been tied to end July for holidays due to partners work we are now free to go away whenever we want!
Can anyone advice regarding the weather in Landes area in September please? We love Contis Plage and that area of coastline.
Thank you.

Can be hot, can be wet, just go & take pot luck I would. To save a bit of diesel money you could got to dept above which is Gironde 33. Weather on central SW coast tends to be less stormy than down nearer to Spanish border.

We've been in that area a few times at that time of year.
As has been said there are no guarantees but on the whole we have had good weather. The exceptions have been in years when the weather has been bad all over the west of France.
Unless you are fixed on going to one place then my advice would be to wait until you are due to go and then look at the forecasts and be guided by them as to where you go to.
September is nothing like as busy as July so you should be able to get a pitch with no problem without booking. Having said that the weather in France was glorious last September and a couple of our 'first choice' sites were full when we got there but we easily found a space in nearby sites.
Thank you all. Yes we're happy to move around.....only partner would like to surf plus we love Contis and other little places nearby. Rain has never stopped us thus far!

Thanks. We've been and had rain every day. This was whilst touring so I think the rain cloud attached itself to our van!
Is that the modern version of Douglas Adams's rain god? (In HHGTTG he was a truck driver)
