I would have thought the application of headlamp deflectors would be based on the same principal disregarding what the UK vehicle is. However, this youtube video explains more in detail how to position the headlamp deflector which may be of use.

I'm of the wrong generation to understand some of the terminology being used. Please show me a diagram or drawing or better still a photograph.

I would have thought that the ending of the video would have been equivalent to a photo and perhaps even better with the explanation of placing the disc at the 7-o-clock position on both the left and right front headlamps.
I have never had to use headlamp deflectors but after watching the video and the explanation how it works it looks simple enough to me.
What is there not to understand?

To be fair if you are using the EuroLite type deflectors it matters little we're they are placed, providing that they both look Ofset to each other, appearing to block the offending beam.

It is more about being compliant, than what they actually do, it's just another tick box should you wish to comply, many will say, simply set your headlight adjuster to low, assuming your vehicle has such a function, and forget sticking things onto your headlights.

I stick the EuroLite's on before we go, I give the headlamp lense a good wipe with meths, then warm up the headlight lense with a hair dryer.

Then stick the EuroLites on, doing the above ensures they don't fall of.

Been driving a VW Golf since 2005, which the firm changes every two years, and I can honestly say, that the EuroLites never get positioned in the exact same position on each car, but they always look compliant.

The old motor was simple as it had the deflector segments in the glass so easy to identify, this one hasn't and the diagram appears to offer two options, thanks for the suggestions and advice, still have a fortnight to go!

Lucky with my car, with active xenons it can all be done from inside the car.

I do as the continentals do when they come over here - nothing. Do I ever see Latvians and Poles and Romanians over here with things stuck on their headlights? Of course not.

I stand to be corrected on this but I was given to understand many years ago that continental cars dip down (not to the right) whereas British cars dip to the left.

Not an issue for me as my elderly car has switchable lights. But I certainly wouldn't want to be dazzling a motorist coming towards me at great speed! And I have often needed headlights in heavy rain during the day too!

Proof of pudding is in the driving. Try driving on a dark French country road. Nobody flashes you up. So from this one can conclude that modern UK car headlamps do not need deflectors. A good way of flogging bits of £7 plastic that cost pennies to produce though.

This letter was the response from my enquiry to Citroen UK...
