Another question from newbies about to do some touring in France?
Any recommendations for the best way to keep our essential personal belongings safe. Read several comments on different sites, some making us wonder is it safe to travel at all! Have read may be safer to keep items in our car rather than in the caravan, any views gratefully received on make or types of safe if that is the best option.
Many thanks.

We use the car boot...you can have a locked box (if you wish) which is out of site.
The exception is if when we are gassed whilst asleep. Then the diamond tiara, the 5 Rolex watches and the €5,000 in cash, were all in a cast iron safe under the bed.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Hi Jose.
Do you need a safe in the UK? What are the "essential personal belongings "?
Apart from your passport, which you can keep in your pocket if you want to, what else is different from what you carry in England?

PS. Love Stuart 's comment. Would any bookmaker members on here like to offer odds on how many gassing incidents there will be this year?
We spread everything about - car boot, car glove box, amongst bedding, under the wardrobe - you get the picture. A thief would have a hard job getting everything that is important. Having said that, we don't take with us any more than we need to. We are lucky enough to have a safe in our home (it came with the house) and any valuables we don't need with us are there. Car documents stay in the car (it's the rules!) and our money and cards are spread about as above.

WE have a safe which is attached to the car in which we keep travel documents, passports and the most important item the dogs passport. If you lose your passport you can get a replacement quickly not so for the dog its a real problem so we keep it locked away.
We also use ours in the UK it saves haveing to carry things around.
